A Flying Visit

Last weekend was saw me jumping a plane to Brisbane to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having never been to the city it would seem normal to plan our time, but with only a couple of days and a desperate need to relax we felt better to just put left leg in front of right  and just see where the streets took us.

I loved the flickering light this wall seemed to throw everywhere, the reflective surface offered a few challenges with light.

Like so many cities, the old and the new sit side by side and I cant help but think the character of the old has stood the test of time much better than the new will 50 years from now.

The botanical gardens offered me a chance to try a type of photography I have long admired, with no tripod I had to rely on resting my camera on the ground, and almost getting attacked from behind by a dinosaur sized lizard (honestly it was that big)

One of many huge beasties that we had to fight off.

Brisbane by night, a simple colour filter added something a little different.

And last, but never least... There is nobody I would rather spend time with then my gorgeous wife, this portrait was taken the morning of our 11th wedding anniversary, Bless her with a hangover from a little too much champagne and red wine the night before.
