Week 1 ~ Flower Depth of Field

I decided to start this year with a 52 week project to get my beloved Nikon back in my hands and to expand my photography a little (not to mention start using that nemesis of mine - flash!). Still being a little jet lagged I am a day later than I planned to post and Mick beat me to it this week. Hopefully all three of us this year will be able to complete the project and who knows there might be a book at the end of it.

A little different from me today as it was depth of field and I had these gorgeous carnations from a friend I set the aperture to f1.8 and I was rather pleased with the artistic background with side light from the kitchen window. I tried a couple of other placements of the focus flower but decided I liked the off centre one below. Some post production in upping the contrast and week 1 is complete.

Now to think about week 2.........
